Monday

It was cold and rainy today.
As you can see, although the deck is covered,
it does not prevent the rain from getting through.
The weather prophets are telling us
to expect 80F on Thursday...yes, I said 80!
Tonight the sky is cloudless
and the stars...what few stars we can see in the city...
are shining clear and cold, like silver fire.
I love nights like this!

I missed the next episode of Downton Abbey last night,
because I was blogging and completely forgot about it!
Happily, it is on tonight also, in a little over one hour.
So, I'll say good bye for now.

  1. Our deck gets wet in the rain too even with a roof. It has been raining heavily for the past 24 hours and flash flood warnings have been sent out to everyone. No one wants a repeat of last January's flood. The dams have been lowreed just in case.

  2. My mum lives near the big house which was used as the set for Downton Abbey. It's called Highclere castle. It's also the place where Lord Caernarvon lived (the one who was with Howard Carter who opened the tomb of King Tut). They have an Egyptology display there too. She has lived near Highclere for over 30 years, I can't believe I never bothered to go. Duh! It opens again to the public in April.

Believe it or not I am NOT watching Downton Abbey - must do so before the trip, methinks.

  3. What I would give for an 80 degree day right now! It's been rainy and freezing and just generally horrible here for over a week now. I don't remember authorizing this weather, they really should have checked with me first, I'd never have approved this...

  6. I'm happy to hear your weather event is over as Greg and I are headed to San Diego and would prefer it to not rain! I've gotten into Downton Abbey this season. Don't know why I missed it last season!

  8. People keep recommending Downtown Abbey to me, but I don't watch tv. Might see if I can buy a box set for during the mid-term break.
Your deck looks great even in rain, and is probably lovely to sit on as it's covered, especially if you get 80 degrees!
    Enjoy DA!

  9. Quick, don't miss Downton. Such a difference these days to be able to get stuff on 'catch-up' if missed.
