Hmmm, missed that last one by L'Engle. Good selection. You missed your calling, you should have been a collection development librarian.

Penguins and Golden Calves is, of those I've read, a big favorite. You might like it.

What a great idea to list books you've read! I should start doing that.

How in the world did you make it through September?!?!?

Hi Sara!

Thank you, for visiting my blog. I felt odd sharing as much as I did about my relationship with my mother, but I really felt led to do that. I have learned to obey that prompting, and though I wish you had the relationship of friendship with your mother, I am glad you let me know how you related. Sometimes, I think we create unnecessary problems for ourselves in thinking we are all alone.

About the Eldredge books. Funny you should say that. My daughter bought me the book Captivating, by John & Staci Eldredge a couple of years ago. She bought it at The Cove while she was at a conference for P.W.O.C.. It was a gift for baby-sitting for her while she was there. She highly recommended the book. I have meant to read it different times. With your comment and suggestion, I will now do that. Thank you. I have read none of their books. What did I say that made you think I had? I found that very interesting.

I will tell you something I have read. You have it listed on this post. Our library has a pillar in the middle of the reference section of books written by brand new authors. A few years ago, Sharon Owens was one of those authors. I checked out her first book, The Teahouse on Mulberry Street, that was on that rack. I did enjoy it. Not a favorite, but I did enjoy it enough to check out the next book, The Ballroom on Magnolia Street. I just could not get going on it. I really wanted to read The Tavern on Maple Street, her third book, but I like to read things in order. Anyway, I have not seen where you followed and read any more of her work. Did you? And if you did, did you like it?

I will be visiting you more. Thanks for stopping by to see me.

Teresa

Hi, Sara. If you would, I would be very interested in your review of Francine River's book, Redeeming Love.
